Toontrack has released update v1.1.3 for Superior Drummer 3, and we thought we would give you a full rundown on what's new and improved in this latest update: - Channel EQ adjustments to improve sound quality of audio tracks - Updates to audio engine for tighter timing of audio recordings - Superior Drummer 3 will now automatically recognize all 2014 Apple computers with 2014 version of OS X Mountain Lion onwards as compatible operating system, where formerly only 1. 8 GHz Intel Core or later processors were supported - A new "Library" tab is now available in the Superior Drummer 3 workflow, to speed up the creation of custom kits - Planned improvements for future updates, including access to all external VST instruments that are currently unsupported by the internal instrument collection - Lots of internal improvements for stability and user interface improvements, including new support for MIDI controllers which have more than 16 channels of input - A new "Import All Files" command to quickly import all audio recordings or MIDI files from an existing Superior Drummer 3 project into a new project - Improved usability for plug-ins with lots of parameters, plug-ins with no parameters that need parameter values entered along with the plug-in. - Bug fixes where in some cases MIDI loops that were played in non-real time would not match the tempo set in Superior Drummer 3 without extra work - Other minor UI improvements and bug fixes.
This update is free for anyone who already owns Superior Drummer 3, but it can also be purchased for $ 29.99 USD if you don't own it yet. Owners of any version of Superior Drummer 1 will be able to bring their library up to date by downloading this free update directly from their Toontrack account. Owners of any version of Superior Drummer 2 will need to purchase an additional upgrade pack directly from the Toontrack store before they can download this latest update. For example, if you have a snare drum recording that is not quite as sharp as you would like, but the tom and bass drum sounds are just right, you can adjust their individual saturation to bring them into line. Saturation also applies to mixing between chorused and un-chorused sounds so that the un-chorused sound is less loud than it should be and not compromised by its strong neighboring choruses.
